Terms and privacy
Last updated October 7, 2026.
The short version. Wellcut is a tool that helps you tailor your resume. Its AI can be wrong, so you check and stand behind everything you send. Pro renews automatically until you cancel, and you can cancel online any time. We don't sell your data or show you ads, and you can download or delete everything. Most disputes go to individual arbitration, not court, unless you opt out (section 16). The full terms below are what count.
Terms of Service
1. Who we are and what these terms are
Wellcut is run by the owner of Wellcut ("Wellcut", "we", "us"). These terms are a contract between you and us. By creating an account or using Wellcut, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use Wellcut. The Privacy Policy below explains how we handle your information.
Please read section 16. It says that you and we will settle most disputes through individual arbitration instead of in court, and that neither of us will bring a class action. You can opt out within 30 days.
2. Who can use Wellcut
You must be at least 16. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms before you buy a plan. Wellcut is made for people in the United States; if you use it from somewhere else, you're responsible for following the laws that apply there.
One account per person. Use an email address you control, keep your sign-in secure, and tell us at once if you think someone else has used your account. You're responsible for what happens in your account.
3. What Wellcut is, and what it isn't
Wellcut is software. It reads your resume, suggests improvements, tailors it to job postings, writes cover letters and interview preparation, and helps you search for and track jobs.
Wellcut is not an employment agency, recruiter, career counselor or employer. We don't find you a job, contact employers or apply for you. We don't promise interviews, offers or any result, or that an employer's applicant tracking system will read or rank your documents in any particular way. Match scores, analyses and suggestions are estimates to help you decide. Nothing in Wellcut is legal, immigration, financial or other professional advice.
4. AI and accuracy: you check what you send
Wellcut uses artificial intelligence (Google's Gemini models, through Google Cloud's Vertex AI) to read and write text. AI can be wrong, incomplete or misleading. Wellcut checks each tailored line against your own resume and removes numbers, tools, employers and titles it can't find there, but no check catches everything: a changed word can still change what a line says you did.
You are responsible for reviewing everything Wellcut produces before you use it, and for the truth of every resume, cover letter and answer you give an employer. Don't use Wellcut to misstate your experience, education, credentials or identity.
5. Plans, billing and cancelling
Free plan. Free, with the limits shown in the app and on our pricing page. We may change the free plan's limits.
Pro trial. New members get 7 days of Pro free, once per person. We don't ask for a card, it ends by itself, and nothing is ever charged for it. Afterwards you're on the free plan.
Pro subscriptions renew automatically. Pro costs $19 every month, or $45 every 3 months on the 3-month plan, plus any tax, as shown before you buy. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, and we charge the card you paid with each time, until you cancel. There's no minimum term. Before you pay, you'll be asked to agree to these renewal terms separately, and afterwards we email you the terms and how to cancel. Once a year we remind you that your plan renews.
How to cancel. Cancel online any time: open the account menu in Wellcut, choose Manage billing, then Cancel subscription. You can also email support@wellcut.app from your account's email address and ask us to cancel. Cancelling stops future charges; you keep Pro until the end of the period you've already paid for.
Price changes. If we change the price of your plan, we'll email you 7 to 30 days before the new price applies, with how to cancel. The new price starts at your first renewal after that notice.
Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, our payment provider tries again for a short time and Pro may pause until it goes through. You can cancel at any point.
Week pass. $9 once for 7 days of Pro. It doesn't renew.
Refunds. Money-back guarantee: within 7 days of your first subscription payment, you can refund it yourself from the account menu, once per person; Pro ends when the refund is made. Otherwise payments aren't refundable and we don't refund part of a period, except where the law requires it or we choose to. Refunds go back to the card you paid with and take 5 to 10 business days to show, depending on your bank; we email you when we make one.
Promo codes. A code gives Pro for the days it states, once per account. Codes have no cash value, can't be sold, and can expire or be withdrawn before they're used.
Fair use. Pro has generous limits shown in the app (for example, a monthly number of tailored jobs) so the service stays fast and affordable for everyone.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We don't see or store your full card number.
6. Your content
You own your resume, your saved jobs and notes, and the documents Wellcut makes from them, as far as the law allows. (AI-written text may not be protected by copyright, and other people can receive similar text.)
You give us permission to store, copy, process and send your content only to run Wellcut for you, including sending it to the service providers named in the Privacy Policy, such as Google for the AI. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in backups for a short time and records the law requires us to keep.
You confirm that you have the right to upload what you upload and that it doesn't break the law or anyone else's rights. A resume naming references is fine; please have their permission.
If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without owing you anything. We quote your feedback on our site only if you say we may.
7. Acceptable use
Don't use Wellcut to break the law or anyone's rights; to create false documents meant to deceive an employer; to send automated or bulk job applications; or to discriminate against anyone. Don't get around Wellcut's limits, the trial or the refund rule (for example with several accounts); scrape, copy, resell or rebuild Wellcut or its job listings; use bots or automated access; probe, overload or attack the service; or use anyone else's account. We may limit, suspend or close accounts that do.
8. Job listings and other sites
Job listings come from Jobicy and Himalayas and link to their original posts. When you add a job link, Wellcut fetches that one page at your request to read the posting. We don't write, check or endorse listings, employers or other sites, and we aren't responsible for them. Be careful of scams: a real employer won't ask you to pay, or for your bank details, to apply. Tell us about a suspicious listing at support@wellcut.app.
9. Our service
We own Wellcut: the software, design, name and logo. We give you a personal, non-transferable permission to use it under these terms. We may change, add or remove features. We work to keep Wellcut running, but it may sometimes be unavailable. If we ever shut Wellcut down, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice and refund any prepaid time you can't use.
10. Closing your account
You can delete your account any time from the account menu. That deletes your account and content and cancels any subscription; the current period isn't refunded unless the money-back guarantee applies. We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms or the law, or to protect other people or the service, and we'll tell you when we can. If we close your account without such a reason, we'll refund any prepaid time you can't use. Sections 6 and 11 to 17 continue to apply after your account ends.
11. Disclaimers
Wellcut is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement. We don't warrant that Wellcut or its output will be accurate, complete, error-free, secure or uninterrupted, or that you'll get an interview or a job. Some places don't allow these exclusions; there, they apply only as far as the law allows.
12. Limit on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost wages, profits, job opportunities, data or goodwill, even if we were told they were possible. Our total liability for all claims about Wellcut is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50. These limits don't apply to liability the law doesn't allow us to limit, such as for fraud, gross negligence or intentional misconduct.
13. Your responsibility to us
If someone else makes a claim against us because of content you uploaded, documents you sent, or your breaking these terms or the law, you'll cover our reasonable costs of that claim, including lawyers' fees, as far as the law allows.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here with a new date, and for material changes we'll email you or tell you in the app at least 14 days before they apply (changes required by law, or for new features, may apply sooner). If you keep using Wellcut after a change applies, you accept it; if you don't, stop using Wellcut and delete your account. Price changes follow section 5. A change to section 16 doesn't apply to a dispute either of us has already given notice of.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the state where the owner of Wellcut is organized and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules; the Federal Arbitration Act governs section 16. A claim that goes to court under these terms will be heard in the state or federal courts located in the state where the owner of Wellcut is organized, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it in your local courts.
16. Disputes: talk first, then individual arbitration
Talk to us first. Before starting any claim, send us a written notice at legal@wellcut.app with your name, your account email, what happened and what you want. We'll do the same if we have a claim against you, at your account email. We'll both try in good faith to resolve it within 60 days.
Small claims. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court, if it qualifies.
Arbitration. Otherwise, any dispute about Wellcut or these terms will be settled by binding individual arbitration, administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, before one arbitrator. It can take place by video, phone or written submissions, or in person in the county where you live. We'll pay the AAA's filing, administration and arbitrator fees beyond what you would pay to file a claim in court. The arbitrator can award you the same individual relief a court could.
No class actions. You and we may bring claims only individually, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, consolidated or representative proceeding, and an arbitrator can't combine claims of more than one person. If this paragraph is found unenforceable for a claim, that claim (and only that claim) goes to court instead of arbitration. Nothing here gives up a right to seek public injunctive relief where the law doesn't allow that; such a request will be decided by a court, after any claims in arbitration are decided.
Many claims at once. If 25 or more similar demands are filed by or with the help of the same lawyers or organization, the AAA's Mass Arbitration Supplementary Rules apply.
Exceptions. Either of us may go to court to stop misuse of the service, unauthorized access, or infringement of intellectual property.
Opting out. You can opt out of arbitration within 30 days of first agreeing to these terms by emailing legal@wellcut.app from your account's email address, saying you opt out of arbitration. The rest of these terms still apply.
17. General
These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Wellcut. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we don't enforce a part, we haven't given it up. You can't transfer these terms; we may transfer them as part of a merger, sale or reorganization of the business. We aren't responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control. You agree that we can give you notices and records electronically, by email to your account address or in the app, and that these have the same effect as paper. Headings are for convenience only.
Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Wellcut collects, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and your choices. the owner of Wellcut is responsible for it. Questions: privacy@wellcut.app.
What we collect
- Your account: your email address and how you sign in (an emailed link, or Google, which also shares your name and profile picture).
- Your content: the text of your resume (with whatever you put in it, such as contact details, work history and education), the jobs you save (posting text, links, status, notes and dates), and what Wellcut makes for you: tailored resumes, cover letters, analyses, match scores and interview preparation.
- Uploads: resume files and photos are sent to our AI provider to read and are not stored by us; only the resulting text is kept. Job links you add are fetched once to read the posting.
- Payments: Stripe collects your card details; we receive your Stripe customer and subscription IDs, what you paid and when, the email you paid with, and refund records. We never see your full card number.
- Usage: when you use AI features, download PDFs or redeem codes, and how much AI processing each request used, so we can keep limits and costs fair.
- Consent records: when you sign up, and when you agree to a plan's renewal terms: the exact words, the time, your account ID and email, and your IP address.
- Email records: which emails we've sent you and whether you've turned them off.
- Feedback: your answers to "Did this help?" and, only if you allow it, your first name with a quote.
- A fingerprint of your email: a one-way, keyed code made from your email address (not the address itself), so the free trial and the refund are once per person.
- Technical data: our host keeps server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested and errors) for security and fixing problems. On email sign-in, Cloudflare Turnstile checks browser signals to tell people from bots.
- Browser storage: your browser keeps your sign-in session and preferences (such as dark mode and tips you've closed), and, on that device only, your email drafts and practice answers until you sign out or delete the job. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies or third-party trackers.
How we use it
To run Wellcut for you, including sending your content to our AI provider; to keep accounts secure and prevent abuse and fraud; to bill you, refund you and keep records the law requires; to send you emails about your account (see Emails, below); to answer you when you contact us; and to improve Wellcut using counts and totals. We don't use your resume or jobs to train AI models, and neither does our AI provider. We don't make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects; match scores are suggestions for you alone.
If you're in a place whose law asks for a legal basis (such as the EU or UK): we rely on our contract with you to provide Wellcut, on our legitimate interests to keep it secure, prevent abuse and improve it, on your consent for quotes and optional emails, and on legal obligations for billing and consent records.
The AI
Resumes, postings and your requests are processed by Google's Gemini models through Google Cloud's Vertex AI, under Google Cloud's data terms. Google processes them to give us the answer, doesn't use them to train its models, and may hold them briefly (in memory for up to 24 hours) and keep limited records to detect abuse, as its terms allow. This processing may happen in the United States or other countries where Google operates.
Who we share it with
Only with the service providers that run Wellcut, and only for that: Google Cloud (hosting and AI), Supabase (database and sign-in), Stripe (payments and tax), Resend (email), Cloudflare (the sign-in bot check), and Google (if you sign in with Google). We also share information if the law requires it (for example, a valid court order), to protect people's safety or our rights, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case we'll tell you. Quotes you allow us to use appear on our website. Job listing providers don't receive your information from us; when you open a listing, you go to their site.
We don't sell your personal information or share it for advertising, and we don't show ads.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We don't track you across other websites, so there's nothing for a Do Not Track signal to switch off. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a request not to sell or share your information, which we don't do anyway.
How long we keep it
- Your account and content: until you delete them or your account. Deleted data leaves our live database at once and our backups within 30 days.
- Usage, email records, feedback and payment records in Wellcut: deleted with your account. Stripe keeps its own payment records as financial law requires.
- Consent records: at least 3 years, and at least 1 year after your subscription ends, even after you delete your account, because the law requires us to be able to show what you agreed to.
- Your email fingerprint: kept after you delete your account, only to apply the once-per-person trial and refund. It can't be turned back into your address without our secret key.
- Security logs (including admin actions that name an account ID): up to 2 years. Server logs: about 30 days.
Security
Wellcut uses encrypted connections, database rules that keep each account's data to its owner, and two-factor sign-in for staff. We don't look at your resumes or jobs except when you ask us to help with a problem or the law requires it. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information, we'll tell you as the law requires.
Emails
We email you about your account. Receipts, refunds, your plan's terms, the yearly renewal reminder and notices of price or terms changes are required to run your account and are sent even if you turn off our other emails. The others (trial reminders, follow-ups you set, getting-started tips) each have a link to turn them off.
Your choices and rights
In Wellcut you can edit everything, download all your data (account menu, Download my data), turn off emails (link in any email) and delete your account (account menu). To withdraw permission to quote you, email us.
Depending on where you live (for example California, Colorado, Virginia or other US states, or the EU or UK), you may also have the right to know what we hold about you, get a copy, correct it, delete it, take it elsewhere, object to or limit some uses, and opt out of sale, targeted advertising or profiling (we do none of these). To ask, email privacy@wellcut.app from your account's email address. We'll confirm it's you and answer within 30 days (45 where the law allows). An authorized agent can ask for you with your signed permission. If we turn down a request, you can appeal by replying to our answer; if you're still not satisfied, you can contact your state attorney general or, in the EU or UK, your data protection authority. We won't treat you differently for using these rights.
California residents: in the last 12 months we collected identifiers (email, IP address), commercial information (your plan and payments), internet activity (usage records), professional and employment information (your resume and jobs), and inferences (match scores and analyses), from you and from the providers above, for the purposes in "How we use it". We disclose them only to the service providers above, for those purposes. We don't sell or share them, and we don't use sensitive information for anything beyond running Wellcut. We don't share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing.
Children
Wellcut isn't for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.
Where your information is
Wellcut and its providers store and process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. Using Wellcut means your information may be handled outside the place you live.
Changes to this policy
We'll post any change here with a new date. For material changes, we'll email you or tell you in the app before they apply.
